Description

On 2 August 2027, one of the longest total solar eclipses of the century sweeps across southern Egypt, with the path of totality passing directly over Luxor and offering up to roughly six minutes of daytime darkness — a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle above the land of the pharaohs. Explore Cairo and Luxor, watch the eclipse from the Nile Valley, then unwind on the beaches of Hurghada by the Red Sea.
Itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Cairo
Your Elevana Tours representative meets you at Cairo International Airport, assists with the arrival formalities and transfers you privately to your hotel. The evening is free to settle in and rest before the journey begins. An optional welcome dinner overlooking the Nile can be arranged on request. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2Giza Pyramids & Egyptian Museum
After breakfast you set out with your Egyptologist guide to the Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramids and the Great Sphinx. You learn how these colossal monuments were built and enjoy sweeping views across the desert plateau. In the afternoon you visit the museum to admire the golden treasures and royal mummies that bring ancient Egypt vividly to life. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3Fly to Luxor
A short flight brings you to Luxor, built upon the ruins of mighty Thebes. You explore the great Temple of Karnak, with its immense hall of carved columns, and the elegant Luxor Temple in the city centre. The evening is free to relax at your Nile-view hotel and prepare for eclipse day. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 4Eclipse Day in Luxor
In the morning you cross to the West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings and the majestic Temple of Hatshepsut set against the cliffs. As the afternoon nears, your guide leads you to a prime open viewing location with a clear horizon. With certified solar-safe glasses supplied, you witness the spectacular total solar eclipse over Luxor — up to roughly six minutes of daytime darkness on 2 August 2027. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 5Luxor to Hurghada – Red Sea
After breakfast you travel by comfortable private vehicle across the desert to the Red Sea resort of Hurghada. On arrival you check in to your beachfront hotel, where turquoise water and golden sand await. The rest of the day is yours to relax by the sea and unwind after the excitement of the eclipse. Overnight in Hurghada.
Day 6Red Sea Leisure
Today is a full free day to enjoy the Red Sea at your own pace. Relax on the beach, swim in the warm clear water, or join an optional snorkelling or diving trip to explore the vibrant coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. Glass-bottom boat trips and desert safaris are also available on request. Overnight in Hurghada.
Day 7Hurghada to Cairo
Enjoy a final morning by the sea before transferring to the airport for your flight back to Cairo. You are met on arrival and transferred to your hotel, with free time to relax or shop for souvenirs. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 8Departure
After breakfast your Elevana Tours representative transfers you to Cairo International Airport for your departure flight, ending a journey that combined pharaonic wonders, a total eclipse and the beaches of the Red Sea.
